Pastor

Reverend Trevor L. Black

Reverend Trevor L. Black resides in Aldi, Virginia, but is a Native of Columbus, Ohio. He is married to Dr. Twana Black, with whom he shares three children: Taylor, Tylor, and Ty. Reverend Black has been in the Ministry and has served God for over 25 years. He was baptized at the age of 10 and mentored by the late Reverend Dr. Charles E. Booth of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Reverend Black was licensed to preach the Gospel and ordained into the Ministry by the Reverend Dr. A.L. Thompson of New Journey Christian  Ministries, where he had the privilege to serve as a Deacon and a Minister for six years. Reverend Black has a degree in Criminology and Policing, which allowed him to hold the rank of Captain in the State of Ohio prison system and work with at-risk youth for over 20 years. He attended Liberty University Theological Seminary.

Reverend Black has a passion for teaching and preaching; he believes that all followers of Christ should understand the differences between relationships and religion. Reverend Black's most recent tenure was serving on the ministerial alliance team under Bishop Howard Tillman of New Covenant Believers Church, Columbus, Ohio. Reverend Black has preached all over the state; Reverend Black loves explaining the biblical Hermeneutic while bringing the scriptures forward and applying them with a practical understanding that benefits people from all walks of life.

Reverend Black has lectured on many subjects that include, but are not limited to, Soteriology, "the study of salvation." Reverend Black is intrigued and has engaged in philosophical discussions and teachings on the African American Church in the 21st century.

Reverend Black is currently studying and investigating the destruction of biblical faith by Westernized Christianity. This study focuses on how Faith, Politics, and religion have transformed what it means to be a disciple of Christ and how we can see ourselves in the scriptures. Reverend Black is a member of the Northern Virginia Baptist Ministers.Conference.Reverend Black believes that as Christians, we must love our neighbors despite their appearance or origin. His core belief is that we have a mandate to change the atmosphere around us. We must make a dedicated, committed effort to love and feed the emotionally broken and spiritually wounded people of this world.
Reverend Black's favorite scripture is Isaiah 40:31 But those that wait on the lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Pastor Black's passion is to inspire, encourage, and uplift people from all walks of life by using the Bible and making it practical while being relevant to the challenges of the twenty-first century. Reverend Black lives by the statement, "If servitude is beneath you, then leadership is beyond you!"
